Transportation

Whether you need support using public buses or trains, we can assist with all your transportation needs.

Transportation

Transportation services help individuals with disabilities travel to appointments, social activities, work, and other important destinations. This includes specialised options that support wheelchairs and mobility aids. Reliable transport is essential for community participation and accessing vital services.

Our healthcare professionals and support workers assist with daily travel, ensuring you move safely and comfortably from point A to point B.

With KindAbility, getting where you need to go is easier and more accessible. If you or a loved one has a disability, the NDIS offers transport funding to help you stay active and engaged. This funding supports people who cannot use public transport due to their disability and is available across three levels, each with different budget allocations based on individual needs.

How does NDIS transportation funding work?

Transportation is crucial for maintaining a normal lifestyle, but sometimes circumstances may prevent you from driving or using public transport.

NDIS transport funding covers the costs of both public and private vehicles, such as buses or taxis. It can also fund a support worker to assist you with community activities or daily tasks. Additionally, if you wish to become more independent in your travel, the NDIS can fund driving lessons and training.

Eligibility for these services depends on meeting the NDIS funding criteria.

Transport funding under the NDIS is available in three tiers, each offering varying levels of support:

  • Level 1: For those not working, studying, or attending day programs but looking to increase community participation, the NDIS offers up to $1,784 annually for transportation.
  • Level 2: For individuals working or studying less than 15 hours a week, or attending day programs, you may be eligible for up to $2,676 per year in transport funding.
  • Level 3: If you are working, studying, or job-seeking for more than 15 hours per week, you can access up to $3,456 annually for transportation.
